Supreme has recently added Google’s invisible version of reCAPTCHA at checkout, which we can only assume is to fight against bots. But, does the new Supreme captcha really give manual users a greater chance to cop than bots?
From what I’ve seen from the first drop implementing the new captcha, there were a ton of errors for a lot of people trying to cop manually (especially on mobile). Tons of credit cards “declined”, and also when people would try and solve the captcha on mobile, it took them back to the home page every time saying “no internet connection”.
I was running Heated Sneaks Supreme Bot (Full review here). I had 6 bots going for different items, and I honestly expected to get maybe one thing with the new captcha. I started the bot and 4 bots went straight through with the orders, no captchas came up, and the other two I just clicked the captchas and still copped the other 2 pieces.
I feel like, if anything, the new Supreme captcha definitely made copping manually that much harder against bots once again. There’s no question that bots will be able to get through captchas with no problem. It’s really just another step for people attempting to manually checkout, while bots can, and will automate it. Manually copping is soon going to be near impossible with more and more people buying bots.
Captcha is definitely a good idea, and something tons of Supreme buyers have been begging for. But with something like Supreme, it really just doesn’t benefit the typical Supreme buyer, and heavily benefits the resellers and bot users.
Maybe Supreme will realize that the new captcha only helps people who use bots. And, they will take away the captcha or integrate something else to prevent bots and resellers. But with them not doing much to fight bots in the past, that’s just hopeful thinking. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in future drops.
