Supreme Japan Relief Box Logo Tee Legit Check Guide

In 2011 Supreme released the Supreme Japan relief box logo tee in an effort to support the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan at the time. All of the proceeds from the tees were donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society. Nowadays these tees are very sought after, rare, and reselling for a pretty penny. As with anything hyped up nowadays, fakes will be made if the demand is there. Fakes of this piece are pretty decent and can be hard to legit check if you’re not sure what to look for. Today we’ll be going over all of the easiest ways to authenticate one of these tees to avoid getting scammed, and taking the L.

List of Current Flaws:

  • Letter Placement
  • Long “p”, and “m” Gap

Letter Placement

For this flaw, we will be looking at some very obvious letter placement flaws in the Supreme text.

This flaw has been fixed in another batch, which the other 2 flaws will be how to legit check the fixed batch.

But for this flaw on this batch, there’s no red space between the “S” and the white line below it, and there’s not red showing inside of the last “e” because it’s to low and into the white line. You’ll definitely be able to see this flaw right away in the example picture.

Long “p”, and “m” Gap

For this flaw, we will be looking at some letter placement which can be a little harder to see than the previous flaw on the other batch of fakes, but still easy enough once you’re familiar with it. This flaw applies to the best batch of fakes out there.

The “p” in the Supreme text is to long on the fakes, and goes down further than it should on the authentic. The bottom of the “p” on the fakes almost lines up with the bottom of the white line to the left, but it shouldn’t go down quite as far on the authentic.

The “m” in the Supreme text should have a small gap with red visible below the middle line that makes up the “m”. All of the fakes just have the middle “m” line connecting to the white line below it with no red gap in between at all. This is a super easy first thing to look for when legit checking these.

Also worth noting that the letters on the fakes are slightly to thin all around, and are thicker on the authentic piece. No thicker than any other legit box logo tee letters, just the same thickness.

Tags

For this flaw, we will be looking at the tag inside of the neck.

Starting off, all of the fakes made of this piece have got double stitched tags. I’ve heard SMALL cases of a few authentic Supreme Japan relief box logo tee’s that were released with double stitched tags based off of Supreme having to send out the tees ASAP and messed a small amount up, but unless you’re buying from a VERY trusted seller in the community who has built up a name for being legit I would recommend 100% staying away if the tag is double stitched because 99% of the time it’s fake.

The size on the tag is also the wrong font and off in shape on the fake tags. The other letters on the tag and the copyright logo should both be bolded, which they’re not on the fake tags.
