Supreme Kermit Shirt Legit Check Guide

The Supreme Kermit shirt was released in 2008, and was the 4th celebrity tee that Supreme released. This shirt holds a large amount of hype, and a pretty large resell price if you’re looking to pick one up. There have also been decent fakes made of this shirt, and if you’re not super familiar with how the real piece should look, you could definitely get scammed for one of the fake tees. We’ll be going over exactly how to make sure a Supreme Kermit shirt is an authentic piece from Supreme to help you avoid getting scammed, and taking the L.

Fake Supreme Kermit Shirt Flaws:

  • Colors/Saturation
  • Front Of Tag
  • Back Of Tag

Colors/Saturation Flaw:

For this flaw, we will be looking at the graphic on the front of the shirt. Starting off, Kermit is much to dark of a green color on the fake tees, while on the authentic he should be a much lighter green color, it will be very noticeable in the comparison picture. Kermit’s t-shirt he’s wearing on the graphic is also much to dark, while it should be a very light white color on the real tee, even after fading over all these years since they released. The graphic on the fake tee is really just way to over saturated, and dark on the entire graphic. This is one of the easiest ways to legit check these tees once you’re familiar with how the color should look on the graphic. The box logo on the t-shirt Kermit is wearing is also usually shiny on the fake tees, while it should be just not shiny at all on the real piece. The box logo also typically isn’t a perfect rectangle on the fake tees, and will have line flaws around the box logo, while the authentic should basically have the perfect rectangle. The pink color that makes up Kermit’s tongue is also way to pink on the fakes.

Front Of Tag Flaw:

For this flaw, we will be looking at the front of the tag inside of the neck. Starting off the trademarked “R” logo under the Supreme logo on the tag is bolded on the fakes, while it shouldn’t be bolded on the real piece. Another thing also always worth looking at on old pieces such as this is the red color that’s used on the Supreme logo, and on the size. On old pieces such as this, the red color will be a much brighter red color from the years of fading, and washing. But on the fake tees, because they’re basically new, the red color will be the red color of a brand new Supreme tag. Unless the shirt is DEADSTOCK, the red color will be faded when looking at a piece this old.

Back Of Tag Flaw:

For this flaw, we will be looking at the backside of the tag inside of the neck. This is a pretty huge flaw with the only fakes that have a decent graphic (although for the first flaw, we compared the real piece to the best fakes that have been made, which still have a pretty flawed graphic). The best fakes out there have the completely wrong backside of the tags. The real piece should have the normal Supreme tag which says “Machine wash warm with like colors. Only non-chlorine bleach. Tumble dry medium. Do not iron if decorated” with the watermark on it. But the best batch of fakes say all that at the top, and then have a bunch of extra wording at the bottom of the tag. This is obviously a huge flaw, but it’s a flaw that could be fixed in the future, which is why the first flaw is still the most important when legit checking these tees.
