Off White Industrial Belt Legit Check Guide
With the initial release off the off white industrial belt, it soon began to blow up, all over social media. As with any piece of hyped up clothing if enough people want it, fakes will be made of the piece. There are a couple decent batches of fakes of this off white belt, but today I’ll be teaching you guys exactly how to legit check one of these belts to make sure it’s an authentic off white product, and avoid taking the L. Beware Grailed, Ebay, and every other selling platform is filled with fakes of these belts. There’s actually way more fakes on selling platforms than there are authentic belts, so be very careful purchasing one online.
List of Current Flaws:
- “W ILL”
- “Syst em”
- Spring Number
“W ILL”
This flaw applies to all fakes except one batch of the transparent belt (The last flaw will be for legit checking the one transparent belt batch). For this flaw we will be looking at all of the places where it says “WILL” on the belt. On the fake belts, the lettering will be spaced wrong, and look like “W ILL”, with to big of a space between the W and the I. The letters should be equidistant from one another on the authentic belt with no spacing bigger than the others.
Here’s an example picture:
“Syst em”
This flaw also applies to all fakes except the one batch of the transparent belt. For this flaw we will be looking at the places where it says “System” on the belt. Much like the last flaw, this flaw is a spacing issue. On the fake belts, the lettering is spaced like “Syst em”, with to big of a space between the t and the e. There should be no extra spacing in between these letters on the authentic belts. The lettering of the word “System” will often be crooked as well on the fake belts.
Here’s an example picture:
Spring Number
This flaw applies to all batches of the fake belts, including the transparent belt which has the previous 2 flaws fixed. For this flaw, we will be looking the the springs inside of the belt buckle. On the fake belts, the spring has 4 loops going around it, but on the authentic belt there should only be 3 loops going around the spring. This is a tell tale sign of real vs fake, and you should always ask for a picture of the spring if you’re looking to pick one up second hand.
