This morning Supreme announced a collaboration with an American photographer named Nan Goldin. Nan’s most known for her work based around a very raw 80’s New York lifestyle. She captures her experiences surrounding themes such as the drug culture at the time, the drag queen culture at the time, and just a generally wild party lifestyle which was fairly popular at the time. Her work was much centered around human sexuality, along with the love and loss which often comes along with the lifestyle she was living.
As far as the graphics go for this Nan Goldin x Supreme collection, the graphics range from a transsexual performer in a rhinestone bejeweled thong on t-shirts and a skateboard deck, to Nan herself wearing dominatrix drag on the front of a skateboard deck. Nan spoke about the collaboration and said “I’m looking forward to seeing teenagers skating on my images and wearing them. To my mind, people have become so conservative, especially the millennials – its like the 1960s never happened – so I like the idea of them being exposed to my real world.”
